Since 1952, Behrends has earned a reputation as a top quality Canadian foundry and signage company. Exclusively engaged in the design and manufacture of custom metal signage and plaques, we specialize in the production of address plaques, engraved nameplates, grave markers, architectural signage systems and donor walls, bronze sculptures, among others. The value of our consulting and design service, and our manufacturing expertise, is assured by our experienced, long-service staff.
Custom Brass Signs and More Using a Palette of Metals, Woods & Acrylics
At Behrends, we excel in designer signage cast in aluminum, bronze and brass. In addition, we also manufacture custom stainless steel and designer acrylic signage for architectural signage systems.
Our palette of metals, woods, acrylics/plastics and custom signage applications conveys an impression of elegance and permanence difficult to match in any other medium. Our efforts are directed to architects, interior designers and various end users of our products.
Over the years, we have built up an extensive range of “stock” patterns for lettering, plaques and nameplates. Custom brass signs feature graphic images that are interpreted in sculptural relief or in multi-layered effects. The range of finish treatments possible with cast metals places few limitations on the imaginative designer.
Driven by Technology, Creativity and Experience
Augmenting our metal casting capabilities are two heavy capacity computer-driven engraving machines. These allow custom image and letter engraving of brass and aluminum sheet specially designed castings and plastics.
We were one of the first sign companies to purchase an overhead router in 1993. Then in 1997 we purchased our second router, a Gerber Sabre 408-one of the first in Western Canada. We pride ourselves as being the leaders in the industry by utilizing the latest technology to manufacture the best product.
